Christopher Jean-Baptiste
Georgia Tech Academic Lead
Chris is a third-year BME PhD student in Dr. Laura Hansen’s lab. His research focus is understanding the mechanism behind supervised exercise therapy and peripheral artery disease improvements. The lab focuses on the interplay between satellite cells and their potential in promoting angiogenesis in a hindlimb ischemia model. Prior to beginning graduate school, Chris attended Florida State University where he obtained his B.S. in Biomedical engineering. Some fun facts about Chris is that he loves to eat and stay active! Please contact Chris with any questions about the graduate school journey!

Maher Saadeh
Emory Academic Lead
Maher is a third year BME PhD student studying vascular mechanotransduction pathways in Dr. Holly Bauser-Heaton’s and Dr. Vahid Serpooshan’s lab. Currently, he is studying these mechanisms by combining 3D bioprinting and iPSCs to better understand stenosis pathogenesis in patients with congenital vascular disease. He grew up in the Atlanta area and graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech before working as a Field Clinical Engineer and Procedural Specialist for Abbott’s vascular division in Boston. Outside of lab, he enjoys movies, trying great food, traveling, and teaching. Please contact Maher if you have any questions about life in Atlanta, transitioning into graduate school, or anything else!
